LBA: Precision alloys at scale

Materials for critical uses

Lebronze alloys, known as LBA, produces high-performance copper and nickel alloys for demanding applications. Its materials can be found in aircraft landing gear bushings, specialized wire for MRI scanners and anti-magnetic components used in advanced watches.

The video takes us inside the company's sites in Suippes and Bornel. LBA describes a range of around 200 specialty alloys supplied to 500 long-term customers across aerospace, medical devices, energy and luxury goods. Each product must deliver precise properties in environments where quality and reliability matter.

Precision in production

At Bornel, hot rolling reduces ingots into strips while improving their microstructure. Technology and automation support tight tolerances throughout production. Because the materials are used in critical applications, products and processes go through rigorous customer qualification and regular audits.

Innovation continues alongside production. LBA develops four to six new alloys each year to meet specific customer requirements and improve performance. That development capability supports expansion into new applications and geographies.

Recycled inputs support growth

More than 75 percent of the metal used by LBA comes from recycled sources. This reduces reliance on primary materials and supports competitiveness as demand for copper and nickel alloys grows.
